He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob Lemmer and Rosella Lemmer (Conter); his siblings, Theresa Chapman, Pat Lux, Richard Lemmer and Herman Lemmer; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Lux, Elmer Aschtgen, Glenn Chapman, Lavern Chapman, Dick Johnson and Dean Mason.

He is survived by : his children, Charles Jr. Lemmer (Tyanna) of Cedar Rapids and Jessica Lemmer of Indiana; his siblings, Dorothy Aschtgen of Cascade, Betty Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Rose Mason of Council Bluffs, Monica Chapman of Manchester, Robert Lemmer (Madona) of Monticello and Mike Lemmer (Laurie) of Cascade; his sister-in-law Janet Lemmer of Cedar Falls; and his close friend Kathy Stimpson of Monticello. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
