It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Franklin Goodyear of Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawrence Goodyear and Esther Frances Goodyear (Bedell); his sisters, Janet Lohman and Mary Jo Eilers; his parents-in-law, Ervin and Alvina Wilken; his son-in-law Dennis Hays; his siblings-in-law, Elaine Pruess and Harlan Pruess; and his grandson Brian Hays.

He is survived by : his son Daniel Robert; his son-in-law Mark Spensley; his wife Janice; his children, Denise Hays (late Dennis Hays) of Urbandale, Darcey Spensley (Mark) of Monticello and Dan Goodyear (Pam) of Monticello; his grandchildren, Allison Clark (Kevin), Dillon Spensley (Kenzie Bush), Devin Spensley (Kally), Macey Spensley (Matt Shofroth), Drew Hays (Emma Lippmann), Kendall Hays (Adam Hannan), Kassidy Hays (Connor Hudson), Wes Hays (Erin), Wade Hays (Amy), Olivia Goodyear and Gabe Goodyear; his great grandchildren, Sullivan, Sonder, Claire, Logan, Parker, Casey, Leah, Addy, Evan, Will and TJ; his brother Merlyn; his siblings-in-law, Marlaine Wilken and Bob Eilers; and also, Merlyn Wilken and Harlan Pruess. He is also survived by many relatives, friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Anamosa, or directed to the family to be donated in Bob's memory to one of the organizations in which he was involved.
