Ruth Raylene Harms Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on April 20, 2026, at the age of 94, Ruth Raylene Harms of Monticello, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Kromminga and Elsa Kromminga (Behrends); her husband Willis Harms; her stepmother Esther; her siblings, Verona Landis (Royal) and Art Kromminga; and her brother-in-law Wes Hanken (Jerry Muller).

She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Lambert (Pat), John Harms (Kathy) and Brenda Crumpton (Mick); her grandchildren, Janda Ciha (Nathan), John Lambert, Jeff Lambert (Shelby), Katie Harms, Ben Harms (Roz), Tony Harms, John Harms (Bri), Hannah Knutson (Matt) and Noah Crumpton; her sisters, Nedra Hanken and Marla Paulsen (Nick); and her sister-in-law Sharon Kromminga. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Her desire to help others has led her to donate her brain to the Neurology Department at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
