Joan Hunold Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Hunold of Montrose, Iowa, who passed away on April 12, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Nichting and Elizabeth Nichting (Mertens); her husband Harold R. Hunold; and her siblings, Joseph, Harold and Barbara Bentler.
She is survived by: her children, David Hunold (Michele) of Keokuk, Iowa, Jean Dobson (Kent) of Montrose and Patricia Miller (Mark) of Montrose; her sister Clare Anderson of California; her grandchildren, Jessica Humphrey (Bryan), Amanda Older (Thomas), Bryan Dobson (Ashley) and Alicia Ortner (Brian); her great grandchildren, Braeden, Jace Ortner, Sawyer Rhoades, Greyson Dobson, Elizabeth and Addison Older; and her sisters-in-law, Marlene Nichting, Irma Burch, Anita Hunold, Betty Hunold and Shirley Hunold. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the Montrose Township Historical Society.
