He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Browning and Elva Mae Dresser Chatfield; and his brother Richard Chatfield. He is survived by: his children, Alan B. Chatfield (Elisabeth) of Montrose, Iowa and Joan C. Ealy (Eric) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; his grandchildren, Nathan Ealy, Kristen Ealy (Pat Greitzer), Meredith Bridges (Sawyer) and Austin "Bryce" Chatfield; his sister Ruth Ann Brown (Ted); his sister-in-law Kay Kite; his nephew John Patterson (Pam); his niece Diana Roberts (Rick); and his grandson Justin Brownlee.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vigen Memorial (1328 Concert St, Keokuk, IA 52632). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Montrose Trinity United Methodist Church or to Montrose Riverfront, Inc.
