It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Barber (Mount Ayr, Iowa), who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Barber to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Manlea Barber and Pearl Barber (Senior); his siblings, Frances and Tob; his in-laws, Verl and Nellie Hensley; and his siblings-in-law, Verlene, Gary and Billy Hensley.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Hensley; his sons, Dusty and Casey (Charlotte); his grandson Brenton Barber; his sister Keleta Dunkeson (Bill); his cousin Madlyn Meek; his siblings-in-law, Myrna Harr (Don), Dot Barber and Dick Hensley; and his nieces and nephews, Bill Schuster, Belinda Jeralds, Bea Weir, Barry Schuster, Kathy Quick, Kelly Roach, Karen Hill, Alex, Colby, Tyler, Kaylee, Henry, Laura, Jack, Sherry Hall and Scott Harr (Dana). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Armstrong Funeral Home (205 W Monroe St, Mt Ayr, IA 50854). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association, American Legion, and Benton Community Building.
