Maxine Washburn Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine Washburn (Mount Ayr, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 26, 2025 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Washburn to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Howe and Eva Gertrude Humphreys James of Ringgold County, Iowa.; her husband Bill Washburn; her children, J. D. Washburn and Mariann Pottorff; and her siblings, Phrayne James, Bus James, Jessie Washburn, Jim James and Darline Adkins.

She is survived by: her children, Jayla Mae Smith of Jamesport, MO, Joe Washburn (Carol) of Hatfield, MO, Rose Washburn (Mike) of Runnells, IA, Penny Washburn of Hatfield, MO, John Washburn (Marie) of Columbus, NE and Rob Washburn (Tina) of Eagleville, MO. She is also survived by Ten Grand-Children; Five Step-Grandchildren; Twenty-eight Great-Grandchildren; Three Step-Great-Grandchildren; and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Lotts Grove Cemetery, where Maxine will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bill.
