Betsy Ann Johnston Obituary
We announce the death of Betsy Ann Johnston of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 95. Betsy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert McCabe and Viola McCabe (Tee); and her husband Donald Johnston. She is survived by: her children, LeAnn, Mark Johnston (Vicki) of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Johnston (Dick Hines) of Iowa City and Ruth (Shuji Moriichi) of North Liberty; her sister Alice Brown of Herscher; her grandchildren, Justin Farley (Christine) of Reinbeck, Misti Shumaker (Scott) of Winfield, Jason Johnston (Wendy) of Waterloo, Kayla Johnston of Mt. Pleasant, Adam Johnston of Mt. Pleasant, Tiffiny Overath (Jake) of Melbourne and Micah Johnston-Moriichi of North Liberty; her great grandchildren, Thomas, Easton Farley of Reinbeck, Baylee Hart (Tristan) of Stockport, Callee Hill (Kyle) of Mt. Pleasant, Luke Pfeiffer (Erica) of Newton, Brynjar Johnston (Madison) of Chicago, Shyanne Johnston of Cedar Rapids, Christina Johnston (Alex Craff) of Mt. Pleasant and Aleah Johnston of Mt. Pleasant; and her great great grandchildren, Colsen, Memphis Hart of Stockport, Blayne, Croix Hill of Mt. Pleasant and Matthew Pfeiffer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Trenton United Methodist Church (502 5th St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641).
A memorial has been established in her memory to the T.T.T. Camping Program.
