She was predeceased by: her parents, Escoe Emery and Juanita Pearl Messer (Bailey); her grandson Joshua Crowl; her stepchildren, Wayne Edward Woodson and Cora Pauline Thornton; and her sister Vivian Umphress.
She is survived by: her pet Bobo; and her children, Dwayne Woodson (Toni Sempf) of Mount Pleasant, Jacky Woodson (Angie) of Brighton and Tina Sammons (Mike Leyda) of Mount Pleasant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First Assembly of God Church (109 W South St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641).
Memorials may be directed to Southeast Iowa Regional Dialysis Center of Mount Pleasant and to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her memory.
