He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Messer and Iru Messer (Christner); his wife Karen Esther Young; his children, Laura Burden (Duane) of Columbus Junction, IA and Mark Messer of Mt. Pleasant; his sister Marla Conner (Frank) of Winfield; his grandchildren, Danielle Burden, Leslie Coffman (Duane), Joshua Burden (Samantha), Emily Burden, Bryce Messer (Hailey), Lucas Messer and Kalli Messer; his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Collin, Reece Coffman, Evelynn Arnold, Lilly Burden, Raven Dougherty, Jackson Kirby, Casanova, Journee Huss, Soren Scott and Navey Messer; and his sisters, Merna Royer and Marydel Fleagle.
