He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Thomas and Erma Frances Swailes (Brownell); his brothers, Robert Arthur Swailes and Harold William Swailes; and his brother-in-law David Farley.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline Anderson of Michael's Episcopal Church; his children, Michael Swailes of Mount Pleasant, Jane Kinney (Rob) of Mount Pleasant and Phillip Swailes (Chris) of Houghton; his grandchildren, Paige Newman (Spencer), Justin Swailes (Jade), Jason Swailes and Jacob Swailes (Savannah Yauk); his great grandchildren, Brantley, Piper, Beckett, Jordyn and Jaxson; his sisters, Janice Murphy (Jack) of Lockridge and Betty Farley of Mount Pleasant; and his sister-in-law Alma Bennett (Kent) of Mount Pleasant.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Michaels' Episcopal Church or to Every Step Hospice in his memory.
