With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Matheney (Mount Pleasant, Iowa), who passed away on February 13, 2020 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Matheney and Julia Matheney (Steele); his sister Carmeleta Scurlock; and his pet Freckles. He is survived by: his former wife Judy DeSpain; his wife Donna Ehrhart (Burky); his children, Brad Matheney (PJ) of St. Louis, MO, Ryan Matheney (Sheila) of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Jill Daniel (Robin) of Mt. Pleasant, IA; his stepchildren, Michelle Ehrhart-Everitt (Mike) of Urbandale, IA, Jennifer Ehrhart Oldfield of Clive, IA and Joshua W. Ehrhart (Lindsay) of Owensboro, KY; his brother Warner Matheney of Bevier, MO; and his stepbrothers, David Schillie of Kansas City, MO and Randy Schillie of La Plata, MO. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are designated to Pheasants Forever or the Iowa Donor Network.

I was to worried something would happen and you'd both be mad at me. Jim was a giving fun person who was full of life.
