He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Wallace and Ella Laura Beckman (Bohlen); his siblings, Rev. Richard Beckman and Verletta McGlaughlin; and his sister-in-law Barb Beckman.

He is survived by : his wife Donna Lachmann; his children, Roger Beckman (Marjorie) of Mt. Pleasant, Dean Beckman of Decorah and Dale Beckman of Mt. Pleasant; his granddaughter Anna J. Beckman; his siblings, Robert W. Beckman (Marlene) of Mediapolis, Donald R. Beckman of Danville, Rodney Beckman (Naomi) of Keosauqua, Joyce Beckman of Danville and Marjean Gerdes (Tom) of Danville; and his siblings-in-law, Rose Alice Beckman of Ohio, James McGlaughlin of Marion and Teresa Lachmann-Jones (Donald) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
