She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles "Chuck" Clayton and Hazel Lela Nicholson (Johnston); her husband Donald Eugene Long; her daughters, Teri Long of Muscatine and Melanie Housel (Jim) of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Mitch (Theresa Meeker), Molly (Cory Bachman), Kelly Lord (Matt) and Jeff Housel (Audrey); her great grandchildren, Audrey, Myra, Jordan, Owen, Ivy, Lily, Philip, Brinley, Malia and Teegan; her siblings, James Nicholson (Wanda) of Blowing Rock, NC, Janet Eggenberger (Richard) of West Burlington, Judy Rixe (David) of Bennett, Jill Hoover of Burlington, Joan Exline (David) of West Branch, Jewel Schultz of Mt. Pleasant, William Robert "Bob" Nicholson and Charles Edwin "Ed" Nicholson; and her grandsons, David Allan Glasgow and Brian Eugene Glasgow (Joyce).
