In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Karl had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Karl may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheridan Messer, Jr. and Walcom (McMurren); and his wife Patti Kelley. He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Rich (John), Barbara Miller (Robert) and Karla Dougherty; his brother Melvin Messer (Barb); and his sister-in-law Carol Messer. He is also survived by his three daughters; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Olson-Powell Chapel (709 E Maple Leaf Dr, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Every Step Hospice, White Oak Cemetery or Green Mound Cemetery.
