He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roger D. Swailes and Rama Swailes (Giberson); his wife Judy Kobs; his children, Steven Tyler Swailes and Katie Harder (Tristan); and his siblings, Charles D. Swailes (Carol), Andrew W. Swailes and Susan Kron (Jerry).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641).
