It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Ann Dougherty (Mount Pleasant, Iowa), born in Williamsburg, Iowa, who passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Durr and Amanda Durr (Long); her former husband John Finnegan Jr.; her husband Dr. Keith Dougherty D. C.; her children, Shirley Peer and David Finnegan; and her siblings, Marjorie Durr, Margaret Durr, Dorothy DeVoss and Leighton Durr.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Ethridge; and her stepchildren, Mike Dougherty, Van Dougherty and Linda Driscoll. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Iowa County Safe Haven.
