He is survived by: his father Wesley Kolek; his wife Diane Flannagan-Benter; his son Keelan Kolek (Brooke); his stepsons, Brendan, Devin (Lisa), Conan (Lacy) and Eoin (Emily); his grandchildren, Kira, Brayden Kolek, Jade, Raely, Ivy, Iris and Hazel Benter; his siblings, Pat Mitchell (Keith) and Bob Kolek (Jean); and his in-laws, David Flannagan (Diane) and Dennis Flannagan (Diane).
A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hopkinton Community Church (202 Cascade St SW, Hopkinton, IA 52237). The inurnment was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Hopkinton City Cemetery (3080 IA-38, Hopkinton, IA 52237).
