Marjorie Whitley Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Marjorie Whitley of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Marjorie, born on July 22, 1935, passed away on October 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Whittemore and Verla Whittemore (Keith); her husband Wesley Whitley; her daughter Carla Whitley; her brothers, Bob Whittemore and Don Whittemore (Carlee); and her granddaughter Whitley Ann Wattleworth.
She is survived by: her siblings, David Whittemore (Jan) and Judy Husmann; her children, Mark Whitley (Heidi) of Lisbon, Ann Wattleworth (Mike) of Mount Vernon and Judy Whitley-Steed (Al) of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandchildren, Mark Whitley (Sara), Lindsay Kula (Joey Rook), Holly Myers, Stacy Wattleworth, John Wattleworth (Deb Johnson), Ashley DeMatto (Bryan), David Riggins (Venice), Keith Riggins, Hannah Whitley and Jonathon Whitley (Lexi); her great grandchildren, Adrianna Strain-Whitley (Joe), Conner Wattleworth, Brooklyn Myers, Cadence Kula, Vincent, Lillian Sayre, Lincoln Felice, Brady, Tucker DeMatto, Carter, Aiden, Ryland Riggins, Daruis and Vita Riggins; and her sister-in-law Elsa Staley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon (304 1st St W, Mt Vernon, IA 52314). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church or the Lisbon – Mt VernonAmbulance.
