It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shay McFarland Aj of Mount Vernon, Iowa, who passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 35, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his fiancée Samantha Dye; his fiancée's children, Arianna, Henry, Logan and Emma; his mother Sandra McFarland; his siblings, Tabitha Rasmussen, Karissa Rasmussen, Christiana King (Casey), Shoshanna Rasmussen (Brian), Ariana Rasmussen, Elijah Currier (Alex) and Raina Banh (Luong); and his nieces and nephews, Cassie, Leah, Bella, Brodi, Micaela, Lucas, Ethan, Gavin, Aiden, Weston, Oliver, Max, Paisley, Delmer, Freya, Grayson and Nora. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
