He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Bennar and Vivian Fjeldos (Vaughn); his daughter Patricia Bennar; his grandson Joshua Bennar; and his siblings, Lee Wendte, Alvin Bennar and Shannon Ryder.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Hannel; his children, James Bennar (Melissa) and Susan Kinman (Tim); his grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle Bennar, Britany, Joey Zwiener, Hali Queen (Mauricio), Cody Gilbertson (Amanda), Michael Frigge and Wesley Gilbertson; his siblings, Darla Rock (Jim), LaDonna Taylor (Doug) and Mike Vaughn (Colleen); his siblings-in-law, Kathy Wendte and Joe Hannel; Erinn Bennar. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
