He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Hess and Florence Hess (Shoemaker); his wife Carmen Rogers; his brother Charles; his siblings-in-law, James Rogers and Virginia Kabisch; and his niece Baylee Hess.
He is survived by: his daughters, Camie (Jeff Mayer) of Golden Valley, MN, Wendi Hess and Donahue Holloway of Lawton, IA; his granddaughter Isabelle Mayer of Golden Valley, MN; his brother Joe Hess (Carolyn) of Cedar Falls, IA; and his sister-in-law Vicki Hess of Rock Island, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In his free time, Jon loved hunting, trapping and snowmobiling, until Parkinson's made them too difficult to enjoy. Jon is being honored at a Parkinson's Community Walk on August 9 in Moville.
