He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Hoffman (Jim) and Ada Hoffman of Murray, Iowa.; his uncle Urban; his daughter-in-law Tilly Van Egmond; and his in-laws, Dean and Freda Garrett.
He is survived by: his wife Nita Garrett Hoffman; his children, John Hoffman (Amy), Daniel Hoffman and Suzanne Hoffman; his grandsons, Zebulon Van Hoffman and Zendan Van Hoffman; his sisters-in-law, Rita Kurtz (John) and Deanna Dahl; and his nieces and nephews, Johnny Kurtz Jr. (Tanner Smith), Valerie Moore (Ben), Renee Dahl, Denise Bromberger (Doug), Mason Moore, Zoe Moore and Christopher Bromberger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Angel Fund at Pleasantville Schools in memory of Jim Hoffman, the Parkinson's Foundation or to "In Him Ministries" through Rising Sun Church of Christ.
