He was predeceased by: his parents, Pratt McMillin and Rose Ella McMillin; and his wife Alice Burden. He is survived by: his children, Janet Phillips (Steve) of Muscatine and Ted McMillin (Rhonda) of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Kristin Hassel (Chris), Timothy Phillips (Alisa), Kylee Rader (David), Kameron McMillin and Dalton McMillin (Maya); his great grandchildren, Astoria, Adeline, Theo Phillips and Owen Rader; and his brother James McMillin (Wanda).
