With sadness, we share the passing of Chester Smith Sr. of Muscatine, Iowa. Chester, born on August 23, 1950, passed away on August 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Smith and Faye Smith (Dennis); his wife Beverly Irene Skidmore; and his siblings, Delores Cole (Russell), Bessie Lascelles (Frank), Paul Smith and Earl Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Chester Jr. and Lee; his brother Dorlan Smith (Irene); and his sister-in-law Sabrina Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The military honors was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Columbus City Cemetery (2603 Water St, Columbus City, IA 52737). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Praise Church of God (1963 N Tipton Rd, Muscatine, IA 52761).
