He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack F. Dougherty and Laura Krususki Dougherty (Krususki); his stepfather Al "PeeWee" Russell; and his in-laws, Marjorie and Roger Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Peterson; his children, Amy Fortenbacher (Mark) and Timothy Dougherty (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Josef (Cynthia), Benjamin, Luke, Joshua, Braydon and Brianna; his great grandchildren, Yazmine, Evelyne and Melodye; his siblings, David Dougherty (Ellen), Pam Moreno (Bob) and Susan Keys (Greg); and his stepsiblings, Karen Mynatt (Larry) and Dale Russell (Dixie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home (1931 Houser St, Muscatine, IA 52761). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Church (501 US-61 Ste 16, Muscatine, IA 52761).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pregnancy Resources of the Quad Cities or Calvary Church.
