He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Diveney and Frances Mortensen Diveney; his wife Karen Patterson; and his siblings, Milton Jr. and Jo Anne.
He is survived by: his children, James Diveney Jr. (Jennifer), Scott Diveney (Orasa) and Kristina Ash (James); his grandchildren, Ellis, Wes, Daylyn, Nahum, Noah, Ashly, Mackinsey and Sydney; his great grandchildren, Naomi, Nora, Nile, Lily, Hudson and Aurora; and his siblings, Pat, Sue, Sandy, Mike and Dan.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home (1931 Houser St, Muscatine, IA 52761). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the family, in the care of James Jr.
