She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Everett and Celia Ruth Anthony (Phillips); her former husband Delbert Wayne Long; her husband Richard William Brockett; her son-in-law Greg Gappa; and her siblings, Arlene Albers and Keith Anthony.

She is survived by: her children, Peggy Marie Waack (Jerry) of Moscow, Sherill Ann Gappa of Rogersville, Jeffrey Wayne Long of Muscatine and Richard William Brockett (Sue) of Safe Harbor; her granddaughter Molly Marie Gleason (Matt) of Long Grove, Iowa; and her siblings, Wanda Gael of Cedar Rapids and Lyndal Anthony of Dubuque. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Christian School in memory of Janice.
