He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Hindbaugh and Marie C. Marshall. He is survived by: his wife Gay Webb Carter; his stepchildren, Lisa Starkweather and Shawn Carter (Lisa); his grandchildren, Calvin Carter, Shian Wrieden (Levi) and Bailey Holladay (Nick); his great grandchildren, Morgan Wrieden and Logan Wrieden; and his brother Robert D. Hindbaugh (Ruth).

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 27 or the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church.
