He was predeceased by : his parents, Juana Chavez and Alfonso Arana. He is survived by : his children, Luis Chavez Jr. (Karina), Christopher Chavez, Karla Acosta and Yesenia Cordero; and his siblings, Ana, Martha, Lilian, Dora, Carlos and Roberto Chavez. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
