He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sterling, Missy Simpson, George and Pat Dowd. He is survived by: his parents, S. David Simpson (Carol) and Barbara Simpson (Dowd); his wife Terra Murfin; his children, Iden and Maya Simpson; and his siblings, Michelle Swanson (Tim), S. James Simpson (Naomi), Tom Fornander (Kim) and Allison Fornander.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home (1931 Houser St, Muscatine, IA 52761). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
