With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Paul Joseph Stych (Muscatine, Iowa), born in Nichols, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2024 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by : his parents, George A. Stych and Alice Marie Bekker Stych; his wife Ellyn Marie Pingel; his daughter Karen Stych; and his siblings, George Stych, Rita Phelps, Jeanette Phillips, Maynard Stych, Wayne Stych, Ron Stych and Donna Conisbee.

He is survived by : his child Dean Stych (Diane); his granddaughter Alexandra Sweeney (Ian); his children, Rachel Zaiger (Baxter) and Michele Weno (Jim); his grandson Greg Weno (Sarah); his children, Erin Weno and Mike Stych (Angie); his grandson Craig Stych (Ren); his sons, Joseph Stych (Tiffany), Sam Stych (Teagan) and Kevin Stych (Sherri); his grandchildren, Doug Stych, Katie Stych and Steve Stych; his great grandchildren, Layne, Grayson, Evan, Spencer, Naomi, Charlotte, Emmett, Vivian, Logan, Luke, Noah, Luna, Marni and Charli; and his siblings, Keith Stych, Rosemary Hollatz (Jim), Nancy Young (Tom) and Ken Stych (Kim).

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home (1931 Houser St, Muscatine, IA 52761). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Mary Mathias Catholic Church (215 W 8th St, Muscatine, IA 52761).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Saints Mary-Mathias Catholic School, 2407 Cedar Street in Muscatine, Iowa.
