With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rick Whittaker (Muscatine, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 21, 2025 at the age of 74. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rick Whittaker to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Whittaker and Delores Blake (McDaniel); his siblings, Larry, Jeff and Sally; his parents-in-law, James and Delores Curtis; and his nephews, Brian Curtis and Brian Whittaker.

He is survived by: his wife Rose; his children, Alicia Menster (Scott) of Bloomfield, IA and Erik Whittaker (Sara) of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Breanna Payne, Emily Payne, Miles Cook Menster (Camille), Samuel Menster and Ben Menster; his siblings, Tracie Miller (Marty), Tim Whittaker (Carol) and Dave Whittaker (Joanne); and his brothers-in-law, James Curtis (Trina) and Steve Curtis.

Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Rosemary.

“I did not interact with Rick that much as we were physically separated by distance. When I did see Rick at high school reunions I instantly liked him. A great guy. Whish I knew him more. I was anticipating the upcoming high school class of 70 reunion and was making it a point to see Rick again. Last night I was told of Rick's passing and was stunned. Immediately I thought you Rose.
