She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Welsch and June Welsch (Brewer); her granddaughter Clarissa Hoppe; her husband Mark Thorndyke; her daughter Clarissa Hoppe; and her brother-in-law Doug Reist.
She is survived by: her son Cory Nelson (Brandi); her grandchildren, Carter, Avery, Cali, Harper of West Branch, Cody Nelson of Muscatine, Shane Blake, Jacob Herlein, Austin Herlein, Kaiden Herlein and Sedric Lamb; her great grandchild Valerie Blake; and her sisters, Candis Reist of Muscatine and Desiree Welsch of Arizona.
