He was predeceased by: his father Robert Mitchell; his brother Bradley Mitchell; his grandparents, Lynn, Opal Lemley, Frank and Lelah Mitchell; and his in-laws, Jerry and Joan Pettibone.
He is survived by: his mother Sandra Lea Mitchell (Lemley); his wife Peggy Pettibone; his children, Jennifer Mitchell, Stephanie Hanson and Robert Brit Mitchell; his grandchildren, Kyler, Kenzie Hanson, Addie, Ian Van Gilder, Gabby Riley-Mitchell, Piper-Dee Mitchell and DeMona Mitchell; his great grandchild Calyn Griffin; his siblings, Brenda Hoffman, Chanda Hornaday, Anissa Willner and Brian Mitchell; and his brothers-in-law, David Pettibone and Tim Pettibone. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roberts & Son Funeral Home (120 W Padon Ave, Blackwell, OK 74631). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Roberts Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Concord Cemetery (15498 465th St, Mystic, IA 52574).
Memorials may be made to the Community Health Center Food Pantry in Wakita, Oklahoma.
