He was predeceased by: his parents, C. J. Swede and Theonita Nelson (Wellman); his wife Cindy Nelson; his daughter-in-law Marietta Nelson; and his brothers, Ken, David, Max (Carolyn) and Jim (Beverly).
He is survived by: his sons, Steve of Manila, Scott of New Braunfels, TX. and Shelly Sharp (Jim) of Germantown Hills, IL.; his siblings, Kay Zimmerman of Dallas, TX. and Oran Nelson (Donna) of Neola, IA.; and his sisters-in-law, Diane and Pat. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Family has suggested memorials to Neola Fire and Rescue.
