Eugene Colhoun Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Colhoun of Nevada, Iowa, born in Colo, Iowa, who passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Colhoun and Eloise Colhoun (Jones); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Bauge and Linda Groomes; his sister Frances Jeansonne; his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Thompson, Ronald, Barbara Clatt, James, Donna Lee, Vernon Bauge, Karen Erickson, Jim, Alyce Wirth and Richard Groomes; and his nephew Mike Groomes.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Joan Groomes; his son Brian Colhoun (Michelle) of Nevada, IA; his granddaughter Savannah Kyle; and his siblings, Angie Thompson of Lincoln, NE and Evron Colhoun of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and three great-great-great nieces, many of whom were like grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Colo United Methodist Church and Story County Senior Care's Activity Fund.
