She was predeceased by : her parents, Gregor Hermsen and Anna Hermsen (Klostermann); her parents-in-law, George and Clara Heying Vorwald (Klostermann); her siblings, Harold Hermsen, Helen Gaul (Eldon), Roger Hermsen and Richard Hermsen (Eileen); and her parents-in-law, Tom Deutmeyer, Joyce Hermsen, Bernice Reagan, Arthur (Lucille), Louis (Loretta) and Walter Heying (Lou).

She is survived by : her son Kevin Vorwald of New Vienna; her siblings, Gladys Burkle (Harry) of Dyersville, Art Hermsen of New Vienna and Elizabeth Deutmeyer of Petersburg; her sisters-in-law, Alice Oberbroeckling (Jim) of Coggon, Grace Hermsen of Manchester and Diane Hermsen of New Vienna; and her pet Molly.
