She was predeceased by: her parents, Darl Steele and Erma Steele (Ratliff); her former husband Robert "Bob" Carter; her husband Steve Allan; her stepchildren, Bobby Carter and Lisa Carter; and her siblings, Evelyn Strobel-Deis, Carl Steele and Jack Steele.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Hillygus of Grinnell, Dave Harrington (Bonnie) of Florida, Sandy Durr (Gary) of Grinnell, Lorri Carter (Terry Bennett) of Newton, Roger Carter (Mary) of Lincoln and Eric Carter (Stefanie) of Newton; her stepchildren, Jim Carter (Josie) of Newton and Lori J. Griffin of Newton; her sister Ruth Kitchen (Ron) of Macon, Missouri; and her sister-in-law Linda Steele of Indiana. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Louise's name (checks made payable to Lorri French) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
