He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Selby and Mabel Wilson (Wert); his wife Dolores Terpstra; and his sister Margaret Leydens. He is survived by: his son Dennis Wilson (Vanina) of France; his granddaughter Sylvia Rys (Daniel); his great grandchild Tamara; his son Scott Wilson (Lisa) of St. Louis; his grandson Nathaniel Wilson (Danielle); his great grandchildren, Maya and Dylan; his grandson Aaron Wilson (Linda); his great grandchild Matilda; his grandchildren, Jacob Wilson and Laura Van Landuit (Alec); his great grandchildren, Bailey and Iyla; his granddaughter Joy Lane (Dean); his stepchildren, Erik Lane, Richard Lane (Megan) and Katie Lane (Conner Simmons); and his close friends, Burt and Suzie Vander Schel. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

After his retirement, he was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the RSVP driving program.
