He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Awtry and Ruby Awtry (Russell); and his brothers-in-law, Richard Butin and Andy Hanson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hanson of Galesburg; his daughters, Angie Hardenbrook (Jim) of Altoona and Kendra Annee (Tim) of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Justin Hardenbrook, Alexis Loyd (Samuel), Josh Hardenbrook (Brooklyn) and Ryan Annee (Cally); his sister Shirley Butin of St. Louis, Missouri; and his sisters-in-law, Lea Andersen (Nick), Cindy Sampson (Duane) and Fae Lykke (Mark). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (1115 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208-2539). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
