He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Walker Trunnell and Doris Evelyn Trunnell (Pieper); and his sister Doris Ann Shipp. He is survived by: his significant other Norma Cramer; his children, Darryl Trunnel (Jamie) and Amy Perry (Mike); his grandchildren, Sarah Trunnel, Ben Trunnel (Katie), Christina Dowdell (Aaron) and Ashley Hill (Brice); and his siblings, Retha Beener, Tom Trunnel, John Trunnel (Sherry) and Bill Trunnel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Prairie City United Methodist Church.
