He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gorp and Celia Van Gorp (Millgate); his wife Grace Van Gorp; his parents-in-law, Cornie and Artie Van Wyk; his granddaughter Heidi Van Gorp; his great grandchild Emerson Watters; his siblings, Laverne Van Gorp, Sr. (Jean), Carroll Van Gorp (Lois), Wanda Willemsen (Marion) and Charlotte Damman (Jerry); and his siblings-in-law, Trudy Wehrle (Raymond), June Kramer (Ron), Walter Van Wyk (Harriet), Arvin Van Wyk (Anna Mae), Larry Vande Voort and Harvey Gene Van Wyk.
He is survived by: his son Van Gorp Pole Builders; his caregiver Grace; his children, Verlan Van Gorp (Michelle) and Sheryl "Sherry" Vander Linden (Alan); his grandchildren, Ami Burns (Eric), Tony Vander Linden (Ellen), Scott Van Gorp (Chelsea), Eric Van Gorp (Janell), Amber Watters (Chad) and Ashley Wissler; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce De Goey (Carl), Darlene Vos (Harris), Helen Brand (Verlan), Carolyn Vande Voort and Judy Van Kooten (Ed).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Newton Village Activity Fund or Iowa River Hospice may be left at the church the day of the service or at the funeral home.
