He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Smith and Velma Smith (Butler); his wife Shirley L Smith (Tice); his son Daniel L Smith; and his siblings, Henry Butler and Darlene Davis (Van).
He is survived by: his children, David A. Smith, Cynthia Dittmer (Scott) and Amy Ray (Chad); his grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Melissa Peterson (Josh), Chelsea Smith, Taylor Smith, Skyler Smith, Shauna Smith, Joel Tolentino (Raquel), Joshua Kingery (Ashley), Shawn Dittmer, Lillie Ray and Peyton Ray; and his close friend Mary Jo Campbell.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Park Centre Memory Care or Wesley Life Hospice.
