He is survived by: his brother Lucas Gilpin (Scena) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his nieces and nephews, Sky Valdez, Ava Gilpin, Joaley Schaffer, Clara Gilpin and Thomas Gilpin; and his aunts, Marilyn Gilpin of Newton and Margaret Gilpin-Lambertus of Newton.
