James Dale Cobbs Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Isaac and Teleen Dorothy Cobbs (Hughes); and his brothers, Donald Cobbs (Karen) and David Cobbs (Andrea). He is survived by: his child Roni Kristi (River) of Canada; his wife Margaret Cobbs of Newton; his children, Kristi Sharp of Cape Coral, Bill Cobbs (Stacy) of Newton and Lisa McGee (Rick) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Ronan Light, Katie Sharp (Matt Rodrique), Bailey Meatyard (Austin), Erick Cobbs (Skylar), Hannah Gerleman (Kyle) and Jerod Merrick; his brothers, Harold Cobbs of California and Barry Cobbs (Ellie) of Texas; and his caregiver Brandy. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 111 (1101 West 4th St S, Newton, IA 50208).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name (checks made payable to Margaret Cobbs) may be left at the Legion the day of the celebration or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
