He was predeceased by: his mother Elena DeGrado (Lucia); his wife Mari Jo DeGrado (Wolfe); his father John DeGrado, Sr.; his brother Tom DeGrado; and his nephew Chad DeGrado.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jane Conforti (Dave) of Geneva, IL, Mary Evanson (Aarik) of Ames, Nancy Andrew (Bob) of Newton and Virginia Risseeuw (Rogan) of White River, SD.; his grandchildren, Gianna, Joshua, Parker, Elena, Ashley (Ryan), Kaurissa (Chris), Trai, Creighton, Camryn, Jackson, Marshall and Charlotte Jo; his great grandchildren, Andi Jo, Eleanor and Jasper; and his nephews, Daniel LaFraniere and Michael DeGrado.
Memorial contributions can be made in John's name to the Newton American Legion Post 111 and left at the funeral home.
