He is survived by: his wife Ginnie Slings; his children, Justice Leonard (Zach), Brevin Johnston (Destiny), Genessa Slings and Braleigh Slings; his grandchildren, Rowan, Finnick, Wilder and Everson; his mother Sue Slings; his grandmother Louise Lippman; his brother Kyle Slings (Ofelia); his mother-in-law D. J. (Casey Johnston); his sisters-in-law, Niki Ross (Jason) and Kelley Johnston; and his nieces and nephews, Adrianna Slings, Makenzie Slings, Alex Slings, Miranda Jenner (Tim), Parker Colvin (Hanna), Amaya Johnston, Blake, Cayne and Lily.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's name (checks payable to Ginnie) may be left at the bowling alley the day of the celebration or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
