Larry LeRoy Pettet Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry LeRoy Pettet of Newton, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 19, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Pettet and Irene Pettet (Marvin); his daughter Brenda Ripperger; his brother-in-law Ron Eblen; and his in-laws, Harlan and Vera Kirkland.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Ileen Kirkland; his children, Tony Pettet (Heather) of Johnston, IA and Christy Thelen (Mark) of Kellogg, IA; his sister Bonnie Eblen of Creston, IA; his brother-in-law Don Thompson (Myrtle) of Greenfield, IA; his grandchildren, Clint Ripperger (Erika), Nathan Thelen, Nick Thelen, Evan Pettet and Brennalyn Pettet; his great grandchildren, Quentin Shehan, Sophie White and Anthony Ripperger; and also Dylan Gordon (Jenna).
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (1900 N 4th Ave E, Newton, IA 50208). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice in Larry's honor.
