With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lehrl Van Dalen (Newton, Iowa), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Wayne and Valeta Fern Van Dalen (Gifford); his girlfriend Judy Brodersen; his siblings, Lois Van Dalen, Barbara Hickey and Larry Van Dalen; and his stepson Brett Brodersen.

He is survived by: his nieces, Angie Gettys (Gene) and Denise Williams (Bob); his nephew Greg Van Dalen; his stepchildren, Lisa Brodersen (Kirby Baumgard) and Doug Brodersen (Jody Van Veen); and his grandchildren, Afton Morgan (John), Trent Wilson, Graham Brodersen (Sasha), Caryse Brodersen, Reece Brodersen (Marcella), Jake Brodersen (Alyx), Ryan, Austin Timmins (Emily) and Lexi Coughenour (Trevor).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the PCM Food Pantry and the Monroe Fire and Rescue Department.
